Orbit World Travel goes international with new London office

One of New Zealand’s largest travel agents is taking its business international.

Orbit World Travel will open the doors on a new store in London on Monday, extending its existing national presence.

Orbit marketing manager Paul Halford said to provide a “unique and personalised Kiwi service” the Orbit London office would manage the after-hours service, providing clients with a more robust after-hours travel approach.

It would also offer specific UK and Europe travel management services, he said.

One of Orbit’s key focuses was to ensure travellers were continually receiving personalised travel experiences, every time they travelled, Halford said.

“Our travellers will receive the same 24/7 service that we currently provide, but rather than our New Zealand based staff working through the night, our London staff will cover this time as part of their normal working day.”

The London team would initially support Orbit’s Wellington, Dunedin, Nelson, Hamilton and Tauranga offices, with the after-hours service being extended to cover the Christchurch and Auckland offices by the end of the month, he said.

“This is a win win result for our staff and our customers.

“Our New Zealand based staff no longer need to work from dusk till dawn, and our customers will continue to receive first-class service from our existing kiwi staff, who are now London based.

The London team would be on-call during times of international emergencies, Halford said.

“This is an exciting time for Orbit World Travel.

“Our international presence and the opening of our London office is the result of our continued company growth and our commitment to customer service.”
