Reliance upgrades CDMA subscribers via Jio Sharing

Telecom operator Reliance Communications has started their 4G services for their CDMA users. After a long wat of one month, CDMA subscribers who upgraded their network provider to 4G would probably receive LTE signals via their new SIMs from this week, as an agreement made with Jio will come in effect.

According to the report, the intra-circle roaming agreement between Reliance Jio and Reliance Communications will drive in 12 circles this week. These 12 circles include Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Maharashtra, UP East and West, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Odisha. Under this agreement, users of one company can make use of the another company’s network. The activation of Reliance Jio roaming will come in effect in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Rajasthan in the mid of the July.

This agreement ends the frustrating wait for 4G services on the upgraded SIMs of Reliance’s CDMA users. 8 million (80 lakh) people are estimated as their subscribers by RCom. PTI reported that ignoring waits and delays, the upgrade rate for CDMA has been nearly 90%. Only the left 10% have selected to port out or make their number out of reach i.e., they switched to any other network.

The Report further added that the Reliance Communications will provide 4G tariffs in a cheap cost as compared to the market rates which are reduced by 90%. In addition to this, RCom will offer 10GB 4G data at the beginning price of Rs. 93, which is more than 90% less than that of its rivals providing 4G service. In most circles, the rates decided by the RCom may vary from Rs. 93 to Rs. 97 per 10GB.

But, this information differs from that we have been heard from sources RTN  that RCom will take higher money for 4G data and will price Rs. 1,350 for 10GB data per month. Later on, many Reliance posters for 4G tariffs from various circles had also seen on the Internet which confirmed the news that RCom will price its 4G much higher rates.

Reliance 4G tariffs Plan

But, RCOM is probably to reduce its 4G tariff in September or October, when Reliance Jio begins the open sale of their connections. At present scenario, it only offers connections under an invite system, and that also only to those who purchase LYF branded phones.

Jio is hoped to price Rs. 499 for 10GB 4G data when it commences commercial operations in that period. This will push all other competitors, including RCom, Idea, and Airtel, to cut down their 4G prices as well.

RCom began their selling 4G upgraded SIMs about 2 months back. After that, it shut down CDMA networks before 3-4 weeks, switching subscribers onto its GSM network in areas like Delhi and Mumbai. Since then, it has been giving efforts to start its new 4G network named as Reliance 4G up and running. The ‘Reliance 4G’ will use 800MHz spectrum and will arrive at basements and houses.
